CMS (Content Management System) websites are websites which focus on the ability to manage your own content.

Smart websites in other words -  once the website is completed the owner will not need the website designer or website design company any longer.

The main difference between CMS and traditional websites is that the code works within templates with a set program offering a backend access window for the website owner to upload their own text, pictures and other information and make many other changes as and when they wish. 

There are several such programs. The main two used are Wordpress and Joomla

CMS programs require the owner to have a good web and computer skill level and once the website is completed the user of the website will need to spend some time learning the tweaks of their program and website. Most people take between 2 weeks and 6 weeks to become pros.
